Working with live models Ellen makes ceramic and bronze portraits, busts and torsos.

In her work she tries to find the inner core, character and personality of her model and translate these in a unique and expressive manner. Her sculptures radiate a strength and beauty that speaks to our imagination, through her use of techniques which both exaggerate and reduce details.

Ellen is inspired by the ancient ideas of beauty of the Greeks and Romans and incoporates these classic ideals into her modern style. Her sculptures are a reflection of our multicultural society which provides an endless source of inspiration for Ellen.

Ellen works in studios in Holland and France.
Her bronze sculptures are cast through the lost wax process and in limited series.
